PAIJ Players Auditions for the Wedding Singer
The PAIJ Players (Performing Arts In the J) will hold auditions for it’s winter musical, The Wedding Singer, on October 15 & 16 at The Berman Center for the Performing Arts.
AUDITIONS (Ages 14 – adult)
ACTING: Please prepare a 1 minute monologue that best illustrates your acting ability.
SINGING: Please prepare 16 bars of a song that best shows off your vocal abilities. We prefer, but do not require, it to be from the American Songbook (musical theatre).
DANCE: Come dressed in comfortable clothes, ready to dance. Close toed shoes (tennis shoes or dance shoes) are preferable.
MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS: Certain characters play instruments on stage, please check the character breakdown for specifics and notify the directorial team if you play any instruments.
ABOUT THE SHOW
The Wedding Singer is a musical with music by Matthew Sklar, lyrics by Chad Beguelin, and a book by Beguelin and Tim Herlihy. It is based on the 1998 film of the same name. The musical revolves around Robbie, who sings at weddings, his failed relationship with his former fiancée, and his romance with a new love, Julia. This fabulous fun musical is romp thru everything fun and delicious that the 80’s had to offer. Upbeat, dance filled, and laugh out loud riot.
Rehearsals will be Sundays, Mondays & Wednesdays beginning October 22, 2017. The full rehearsal schedule will be available at auditions. Cast members are required to attend all technical rehearsals and performances.

- Wednesday, January 31 | 7:30 p.m.
- Thursday, February 1 | 7:30 p.m.
