The West Bloomfield Township Water & Sewer Utilities Department currently has its Engineering
Consultant (Johnson & Anderson, Inc.) performing accurate asset management via Global Positioning System (GPS) mapping of all water and sewer utility structural assets that are located within the water distribution and sanitary sewer collection systems of the township.
There are two separate 2- Man Survey Crews working to perform this work that is starting in the northern region of the community and working in a southerly direction in order to cover water and sewer infrastructure assets that are situated throughout most of the township. This survey work is anticipated to be fully completed over the next 11 to 12 weeks of time from February 21st through May 15th, 2017.
Survey crews are in possession of township identification badge credentials that they carry on their person and are authorized by West Bloomfield Township to perform this beneficially necessary and technical work.
Minimal hand shovel digging may need to occur in some locations as the survey crew’s travel from structure to structure at an approximate speed of five minute intervals. All access and any necessary surface digging work is performed within designated water and sewer township easements. *Note: Some areas are heavily grown over and do not afford adequate access for the Water & Sewer Utility Department to reach specific infrastructure for the purpose of adequately maintaining those important assets. Should there be any questions or concerns in regards to this water and sewer related matter, please feel free to call the West Bloomfield Water & Sewer Utilities Department at (248) 451- 4780.
