Governor Whitmer Lifts Stay at Home Order, Addresses the Protests | Press Conference, June 1, 2020

Governor Gretchen Whitmer addresses the continuing protests across America in reaction to the murder of George Floyd by Minneapolis Police Officers, as well as announces a lifting of the Stay-At-Home Order and movement of most of the State into Phase 4 of the reopening of the economy in a press conference on June 1, 2020.

Among the services resuming with the Stay At Home Order now lifted include dine-in restaurant services at or below 50% regular capacity, outdoor gym and athletics with proper social distancing, and the opening of swimming pools on June 8, 2020.. Additionally, gatherings of 100 people or fewer are immediately permitted.

Additionally, Lieutenant Governor Garlin Gilchrist II addressed the death of George Floyd, the nation-wide protests, as well as the path forward in addressing systemic racism and finding peace.
