American Economics Researcher Explains How Pace of Lifting COVID Restrictions Impacts Job Market

Brad Hershbein, Senior Economist and Communications Advisor at the W.E. Upjohn Institute for Employment Research, says that, per his organization’s recent study, the states that lifted restrictions more gradually or had more time to prepare for COVID-19 outbreaks due to delayed upticks in case-load, tended to have faster recovery of job markets, as restrictions kept death rates lower.
