Michigan State Senator Says Mixed Messaging on Regulations Contributing to State’s COVID Situation

Michigan State Senator, Jim Runestad from the 15th District compared Michigan’s past regulations to prevent the spread of COVID to the actions of other, more relaxed, states such as Texas and Florida to current COVID numbers and said that the Governor’s claims of current spikes being due in part to a “compliance issue” is unfounded (at least from what he has seen in Oakland County), stating that a more relaxed approach that was similar to Texas, Florida and others may have resulted in a smaller spike, coupled with more effective vaccine rollout statewide.
