The Chaldean people make up a large chunk of Michigan’s population. The majority of Chaldeans migrated to the Metropolitan Detroit area in the early 1910s and 1920s in search of more expansive freedom. And with the number of participants in the community, The Chaldean American Ladies of Charity have been making strides towards personal self sufficiency among its members. Social Worker with United Community Family Services Raghad “RJ” Gabarra talks about how strong the bonds in this community are, and what has driven them to be a proud, half century old, organization.
