Michigan Senator Addresses Major Spike in COVID-19 in Schools

Michigan State Senator, Rosemary Bayer, from the 12th District says that the State has decided to let local health departments and school districts make decisions on whether or not to continue in-person learning during the current COVID surge in Michigan rather than install new shutdowns or restrictions. Sen. Bayer also noted the decisions made on COVID relief funding for schools being based on time spent in traditional learning situations may also be contributing to districts feeling pressured to remain in-person despite the spike.
