Therapist Carrie Krawiec from the Birmingham Maple Clinic suggests writing a to-do list on paper or digitally in order to take them off of your mind and put them somewhere else, lowering the amount of energy and focus being utilized by the brain on thinking about that/those task(s). Krawiec also said removing clutter from your environment and reducing the use of “should” when referring to things that need to be done, lessening the burden that an incomplete tasks is taking on you, is important to relieving stress.
