UPDATE: Water Main Break Affecting West Bloomfield Township | Limit Water Usage
Posted on March 7, 2026
WATER MAIN BREAK IN FARMINGTON HILLS AFFECTING NEARBY AREAS IN WEST BLOOMFIELD
WHAT WE KNOW:
West Bloomfield Township is asking residents to limit water usage until further notice in order to support emergency interconnections with neighboring communities that are supporting affected areas in West Bloomfield and those communities.
Limited water usage allows the Water Utilities Department to ensure the system is working properly to maintain safe water pressure measurements and avoid a boil water advisory.
There is NOT a boil water advisory in place in West Bloomfield Township.
West Bloomfield and Farmington Hills PD have closed portions of 14 Mile Road in the affected areas. WBPD suggests avoiding the area entirely, as multiple vehicles have been trapped in standing and moving water.
If your home experiences total loss of water pressure, please report this to the West Bloomfield Police Department Non-Emergency line at 248-975-9200.

Water main break occurred about 4:30am on Saturday morning in Farmington Hills in the area of 14 Mile Road and Drake Road. The break occurred on a 48″ Great Lakes Water Authority (GLWA) transmission line.
West Bloomfield Water Utilities Department isolated two master meter vaults affected by the break that require repairs, salvaging water pressure levels, which stabilized and recovered quickly.
Neighborhoods surrounding Muerdale in West Bloomfield are experiencing lower water pressure at this time.
