Julie Brenner, President of the Alliance of Coalitions for Healthy Communities, says that quick action by trained individuals on the use of Narcan, including seeking the attention of first responders as soon as possible upon administering, are saving the lives of those who overdose on opioids, providing the sudden (and briefly lasting) relief needed in order to provide time to seek care before overdoses become deadly.
