Mary Lynn Foster, Regional CEO of the Michigan Region of the American Red Cross, explained that the campaign is to encourage families to have smoke detectors in the home and work to form a plan to escape their home in the event of a fire within two minutes, stating that this information is critical, with other 1,300 home fires in Michigan just since July of 2020.
