Gretchen Whitmer Says Stay At Home Order to Need “Short Extension” and Announces Temporary Layoffs

Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer addresses the press with updates on the State’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Governor Whitmer, in her press conference, stated that her Stay-At-Home Order, due to expire on May 1, will likely need a “short extension,” as well as announcing a temporary layoff period for some State employees.

Additionally, Dr. Marisa Eisenberg, Epidemiologist from the University of Michigan, discusses projections on how a re-opening of the State may affect COVID-19 cases if social distancing measure are done away with in a blanket measurement.

Also, Medical Director of the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, Dr. Joneigh Khaldun, provides an update on the State’s public health response to the pandemic.
