Dr. Manu Malhotra, Chief Medical Officer of Henry Ford West Bloomfield Hospital, explained that “herd immunity” is the point when the population will not be clear of the spread of COVID-19, but unlikely to have the virus spread on a rampant (epidemic or pandemic) level, which is typically reached when 70% or more of the population has been fully vaccinated from a virus such as COVID-19.
