Michigan Festival and Events Association CEO Expects Slow Start to Michigan Festival Season

Mike Szukhent, President and CEO of the Michigan Festival and Events Association, says that slower rollout of COVID-19 vaccines and continued safety regulations at the state level will likely lead to a slower-paced festival season, but hopes that vaccination-rates build, regulations are lifted and the public continues to be cautious about potential spread of COVID-19 in order to support Michigan’s festival and events industry, as many companies may begin to liquidate their assets if business does not pick up during peak season in 2021.
