Oakland William Beaumont Professor Explains Ethical, Medical Reasons in Fast-Tracking Vaccine

Dr. Mark Navin, Ph.D., Chair of Philosophy and Lecturer in Foundational Medical Studies at Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine, says that the immediate need and benefits of a vaccine for some people (medically) and need to end negative societal repercussions of the pandemic such as no in-person learning and limitations for visitation in hospitals and nursing home facilities outweigh the drawbacks of the unknown potential impacts of a vaccine long-term, which makes for a viable reason to distribute a vaccine of high-efficacy promptly once approved.
