West Bloomfield Parks Naturalist Talks about Rare Brood X Cicada

Cathy Wesley, Park Naturalist for West Bloomfield Parks, explained that the Brood X Cicada are a rare form of cicada that appears once every 17 years, and will emerge in May and June (about 1 million per acre), creating noise of about the equivalent of a motorcycle at their peak, as male cicada seek a mate.
